BIKE SHOP |
 |
Rustys
X-cellent Adventures is equipped with a bike shop for routine or emergency
maintenance and spare parts to keep visitors bikes running well throughout their stay.
Bring your Bike - We highly recommend bringing your own bike. Youll be more
comfortable on yours than any other. That makes riding more enjoyable. Youll
get plenty of use out of it even if youre not riding trails. Negril is a small town
and a mountain bike is a great way to get around. Youll save money on taxis and
motorbike/car rental. Youll save a lot more than the airlines small fee to fly
with it. |

Bike Rental
We do rent high end bikes including Santa Cruz, Rocky Mountain,
Scott, Boulder, Mantis, Jamis, & Bergwerk. We rent our bikes for the duration of the guided tour only.
Bike Air
Travel
Most bike shops will box bicycles for air travel. The bike box is checked and put
on the plane with the rest of your luggage. Some airlines will accept it as your second
piece (you are allowed two) of luggage at no charge, other airlines charge a fee for a
bike box (usually about $45 U.S. dollars each way). Check with the airline. Rusty can
assemble (unpack on arrival) and dismantle (pack for departure) bikes for air travel.

Bicycle Safety
Bring a light. If you plan to ride your bicycle at night
you will need a light. A flashlight for the front and a reflector for the rear is
acceptable. If you do not have a light, the police can stop you and they will let
the air out of your tires. If you carry a pump, this is no great punishment, but you
should have a light for your own safety.

Bring a lock for your bike. A cable, long enough to fit around a tree, with a
padlock is plenty.
SAFETY
At Rustys X-cellent Adventures safety comes first. You'll never feel pressured to
ride any thing if you don't feel comfortable with it. All riders wear helmets on the
trails. If visitors don't have helmets, we have one for them. First aid kits
are carried on all rides and Rusty and Linda are both trained in CPR, injury assessment
and primary care, just in case. |
